The new trail extension will improve access and connectivity to the Cal-Sag Trail that runs alongside the Cal-Sag Channel.

Village of Glenwood, partners from the MWRD and community members will unveil the new Glenwood Levee at George Arquilla Park, working to mitigate flooding for 29 homes and other community structures impacted by overbank flooding along Thorn Creek.

In the last week, the MWRD’s Tunnel and Reservoir Plan (TARP) captured approximately 7 billion gallons (BG) of combined sewage.

By reducing water during these storms, area residents and businesses can help reduce flooding and protect water quality.

Before severe storms, the MWRD lowers the level of the Chicago Area Waterway System as staff work around the clock managing the excess water.

TARP is complete and fully operational except for the McCook Reservoir Stage 2 (McCook Stage 2).
