The Egan WRP serves the communities of Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Palatine, Rolling Meadows and Roselle.

The MWRD is pleased that our efforts over the past century, including the planning and construction of the Tunnel and Reservoir Plan (TARP) in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, has greatly improved water quality in our area waterways.

The Space to Grow program operates through a collaboration between the non-profit organizations, the Healthy Schools Campaign and Openlands, along with three public agencies, the Chicago Public Schools, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and the Chicago Department of Water Management.

The project transformed traditional impervious alleys into eco-friendly, permeable surfaces designed to better manage stormwater, reduce flooding, and enhance neighborhood resilience.

This vital stormwater management project was made possible through a partnership between the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) and the Village of Glenwood.

The project honors the history of the Graue Mill and Fullersburg Woods, while also improving water quality and enhancing recreational opportunities in Salt Creek.
