With more rain expected in the Chicago area Monday, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) encourages area residents and business owners to reduce water use during and after the storm to help prevent flooding and protect water quality:

MWRD Assistant Director of Engineering Kevin Fitzpatrick appeared on Chicago Tonight to explain how key MWRD infrastructure—such as the Tunnel and Reservoir Plan—operates, highlight ongoing stormwater management initiatives, and describe how the Chicago Area Waterway System provides essential drainage for the region.
